EMERGENCY FIRST AID SPECIFIC HAZARD TRAINING HYDROFLUORIC ACID
There are a number of special hazards for which training in emergency procedures need to be more specific and where hydrofluoric Acid is kept and used on any premises; all first aiders should undergo this additional first aid training.

Course Content
- Introduction to hydrofluoric acid
- The dangers of hydrofluoric acid burns
- Storage, handling and hazard awareness
- Physiological effect-skin-eyes-ingestion-inhalation
- Aims of first aid treatment and methods of referral
- Specific treatment including eye irrigation and use of specific antidotes
- Record keeping and incident reporting
Certification
All participants will be continually assessed throughout the course and will be issued a certificate of attendance which is valid for 3 years.
