Foster carer first aid

This course offers a basic introduction to first aid training for people who have contact mainly with children such as young mothers and is suitable for those not requiring a work based certification /qualification, it is aimed at giving attendees the confidence to tackle a wide range of emergency situations without being confused by convoluted methods and technical jargon.

Course Duration
One day 6 hour course. (4 hour condensed course available)

Course Content

• Management of the unconscious casualty
• Management of a non breathing casualty
• Treatment of a casualty who is bleeding
• An overview of Burns/Poisons/Convulsions
• Open Forum on requested topics
• Contents of first Aid kits
• Basic record keeping

Certification

On completion of the course, candidates will receive a certificate of attendance in Emergency first Aid for babies and Children, Valid for 3 years.
